WEEKEND OPEN FORUM (Updated)

Projects, Sites, Topics of SL Conversation, Weekend Events that didn't get to Rik in time-- post any and all here, and I'll highlight as many as I can in a front page update.

Update, April 28

Waters Dagger passes on a SLURL to a happy fun place known as "Furry Manga Land".  Speaking of which, the Japanese are beginning to join Second Life in larger numbers, and some of them are already creating jaw-dropping content.  Torley just posted an extensive update of several great sites/images-- including this cool anime-inflected machinima promo for a new locale.

Thanks, Waters and TL; keep the Comments coming, all.

Here's a bizarre site that I stumbled onto, interesting, but not at all what it's advertised to be. Be careful, though, the avatars who frequent the place are rather rude and unfriendly.

Ah! Here's one for you, Jamlet... international growth of Second Life has been so exciting, but I haven't seen a lot of attention (at least in English media) being given to some of the eclectic Japanese projects arisin'.

For example, the MeltingDots (that's the name of the region) orientation island. It's been getting mega-traffic and is a really fun, nice place to visit. Of course, I'm totally biased because it reminds me of classic video games I grew up playing, and it's SO colorful!

I'd like to thank Seagel Neville for telling me about two cool new urban regions called "KABUKI" and "sick"; the latter even has a YouTube promo.

Randy Kamaboko let me know about Ameba's blog; they're responsible for this head-turning creation. It's timez like this when I wish I could read Japanese!

The growing Japanese continents are wonderful to explore too. Shimokitazawa, still very much in progress, features some gritty urban grunge.
