Save Internet radio! DJ Synn invites all music-loving avatars to come out to a ten-hour marathon protest party from 10AM-10PM SLT on Saturday May 12. The all-day event is an effort to raise awareness of the threat to Internet radio (in the United States) posed by new royalty rates for Internet radio broadcasters that will go in effect in a couple of months. (Previously reported in NWN.) Six DJs will be gathering to spin at the Castle in Winterfell (teleport SLURL) .The revolution will be streamed.

Also coming up : 14 sculptures in 14 days, a temp_on_rez club, Kevin Bacon, a hunger walk, Hawaiian legends, electro-celtic jams and tons more after the jump...

Madcow Cosmos Creates 14 Sculptures in 14 Days (Day 4)
From May 7-14, Madcow Cosmos will be creating a new sculpture a day. With 1000 prims to work with, check out Madcow's impressive scope, size and attention to detail at Oyster (28, 177).

2-9AM - "Virtual Worlds, Real Learning" Symposium
This real world symposium taking place in London examines virtual worlds to evaluate whether they offer real opportunities for learners at UK educational institutions. All the presentations will be streamed live into SL at the Virtual Congress Centre on Eduserv Island, the auditorium on Cybrary City and the outdoor teaching space on NMC's Teaching 2 island.

8AM - Recycling 101: Remaking the Bed
You ever find a freebie piece of furniture and think, if only this was a bit bigger, or blue? Golda Stein teaches you how to take apart, analyze and re-work existing objects (like a bed) into something even more useful and beautiful. You need to know something about textures, color and shape manipulation, and linking prims. At Dreams (60, 59).

12PM - Opening of temp (rez|rezzed) (c|k)lub
Temp_on_rez prims are special prims that don't count against a parcels prim limit. Some ingenius entrepreneurs have create the temp (rez|rezzed) (c|k)lub on a teeny tiny 512sqm plot using only 91 precious prims at Dudineer (teleport SLURL.)

5PM - Mixed-Reality Concert by Buddahead and Shock Radar
Virtualife.tv announces a mixed-reality concert taking place both at the Canal Room in Manhattan and the Morpheum Sim in SL (teleport SLURL). Featured performers are Buddahead and Shock Radar with Ray Ellin MCing.

InWorld Cinema Opening
Prepare for a new kind of movie-watching experience as InWorld Cinemas begins showing feature length motion pictures for only L$260.  Their first offering is the movie "Loverboy" (2005), a drama starring Kyra Sedgwick and Kevin Bacon. 12PM - How Do Your Nearest and Dearest React to Your Second Life?
Do the people close to you think you are a freak for being on SL? Do you get complaints from the spouse about late nights glued to the screen? Is your partner jealous, angry or dismissive? Absolute Balderdash wants to know about it, as he prepares for a possible research project. At Nogojiri (74, 208).

1PM - Prim Jewelry Class
Move beyond the bling and learn the fine art of creating jewelry in SL.  Ty Hyland teaches an advanced level course in prim jewelry making. There's only space for 15 students, so show up on time.  At  Fishermans Cove (28, 150).

4PM - The Artist Speaks: Horatio Bartz
RL Australian artist Horatio Bartz explains how professional artists deal with market demands and creative pressures that threaten to undermine their work.  Afterwards check out Horatio's new exhibition entitled "Strewth!" which opens down the street, immediately after the talk, at the Undertone Gallery. Fight Hunger: Walk the World
The UN World Food Programme every year organizes a "Walk the World" fundraiser / awareness raising event to draw attention to the problem of famine and hunger around the world.  In towns and cities all over, people gather to walk in support of humanitarian aid and development assistance for the most needy. Now avatars can also participate in a virtual walk gathering at Dragon Moons Resort (Teleport SLURL).

1PM - Class on Dealing with Griefers
A nasty griefer can ruin your day.  Rox Arten teaches important tips and tricks for dealing with griefers including "what griefers want and how to thwart them," how to use the mute feature, avoiding being orbited/pushed, protecting yourself on land you/your group own, and filing an Abuse Report with Linden Lab. 3PM - Charitable Hearts Art Gallery Opening
Charitable Hearts non-profit group announces the opening of the Not For Profit Art Gallery featuring the donated works of several prominent SL artists. All proceeds from the gallery will be split amongst a diverse group of charities including Relay for Life, St. Jude's Children Hospital, Oxfam, The Humane Society and the Virtual Angel. 6PM - Discussion of SHE by H. Rider Haggard
Ranulph Graves leads a discussion of the novel SHE, by H. Rider Haggard, the story of a beautiful and powerful queen of an African tribe who falls in love with the English explorer, Leo. Copies of the book may be found at the library, or online. At Caledon VictoriaCity (59, 196).

4PM - Hawaiian Storytelling
Lehua Lamington, author, artist and activist, presents an hour of storytelling from her native home Hawai'i at Abitibi (191, 26).
