Second Life to be featured on the Discovery Channel's mini-series on videogames

Virtual_release_form

Starting this Wednesday night, the Discovery Channel will launch a five part mini-series on the history of videogames.  The fifth segment (or rather, as they call it, "Level Five") on December 19th should feature Second Life, along with interviews and/or in-world appearances by Cory Linden and myself.  Here's a listing and summary guide from veteran game journalist Geoff Keighley, who helped craft the series, a sure sign of quality.  (I used to write for Geoff back in the day, like this profile of Warren Spector published shortly before Deus Ex came out.  Working separately, by way of full disclosure, I should add that I was a consultant on the SL segment for Worlds of Wonder, the production company who developed the series.)  The in-world machinima for the SL segment is from the team of Silver and Goldie Goodman, and when they took footage of me at my office, had my avatar sign the virtual release form above.  I'm looking forward to seeing this, totally apart from my minimal involvement in the production. Along with every other US-based Resident, I'm among the last to see it-- judging by e-mails I've been getting about it, this past year, it's already aired in the UK, Poland, China, and India.

Hundred lindens?! It is not about money, but one either pay nothing than pay L$100. Most of the dancers get more for a good timing in switching animation and a emoted smile. In that 5 seconds not for the night, I mean.
