Just the thing for vagabond fashionistas and wandering photographers without land:  Sarah Nerd of Your2ndPlace has a nicely illustrated, step-by-step tutorial to building an impromptu photo studio with directed lighting and background textures that you could rez and use for free in a sandbox.  The results "aren't fancy," she allows, "but they will help you take a decent profile or object picture without sinking the money into a studio."
