Discovery Channel Education Network In Second Life

Subthumbnail Discovery Education is a pedagogical offshoot of the beloved cable network (home of Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, etc.), and I recently noticed they have a Second Life presence and a blog, merging together education, Discovery TV programming, and SL activities.  So for example, when it was "Shark Week" on the network recently, Discovery's SL educators organized a “Swim with Sharks Underwater Scuba Adventure” at the great diving simulation of Dive World.  Now that there's Havok 4 physics in Second Life, I'd love to see some classic Mythbuster challenges recreated in-world.

Sweet.

I'm really happy you discovered this place. I've been writing about it on my blog the last few months, but my readership is piddly compared to yours.

I mean this in a good way. I'm happy you are posting about it because it gives far greater exposure to the site and location in-world than what I could give.

:)
