Gorgeous Lighting Tips For Gorgeous Screenshots

Gorgeous_lighting_tips

I'm a fan of Juicybomb, an SL fashion blog with an endless stream of sexy, luminously hyperreal photos. Now one of its lead photographers, Gorgeous Yongho, shows how she takes Second Life's default lighting (depicted above left) and with some easy tweaks to the graphic settings, converts it into a Juice-worthy imagery (ablaze above right).  For more advanced lighting tips, see Iris Ophelia's detailed how-to.

Thank you for this link! I've been wanting to learn more about how to take great screenshots. :D

Beautiful? Yes. Luminous? Absolutely--but hyperreal? Almost all depth cues are missing from the "after" photo, making the subject look almost like a paper doll.

Compare it with the classic Richard Avedon photo of Nastassja Kinski with the snake. Ms. Kinski glows, but you can tell that she's very definitely three-dimensional.
