Last Week In New World Notes...
- I argue that Second Life is in a malaise period, and needs an "Elect Obama" moment to rejuvenate.
- Improvise, adapt, overcome: US military veterans (many wounded during their years of service) create a support network for each other in SL.
- In the wake of the Openspace controversy, some of our land goes missing. And even after a policy alternation, some continue their exodus.
- As more people consider an OpenSim alternative to Second Life, a leading developer creates a fork in the metaverse.
- What should we do with the bots who make up 10-15% of SL's user activity?

Personally, I've found SL to be quite non-malaise. After the Obama win there was a day of celebrating, yes.... but since then I've felt that vibe continue in SL.
The activists are leading a heavy charge relating to voidsims.... The artist and fashion communities have been doing some really interesting new creative community involved activities (for example, Rezzable or Koinup)
The music scene is strong. Although tips are low, since mid-October the average attendance has gone up.
And meanwhile through all of this, it seems that many have this wonderful creative collaborative drive it em....
Cause my opinion is that the crap about the voidsims just happens to be overshadowing the awesomeness thats been in SL October and November.
