Weekend Machinima: SamLowry's "Breathe", Archive of Great Second Life Locations (With SLurl Links)

It's a wonderful Second Life... Breathe... from samlowry on Vimeo

Here's a lovely and soaring machinima from SamLowry Hawks, created with a serious purpose: "I wanted to make some video archives," he tells me, "to save a little of our history in some moving images to make them a little more alive than photographs." (He also made it as a tribute to his partner and Scheherazade, fashion designer Joy Fellini.) Hawks named his avatar after the hero of the Terry Gilliam classic Brazil, and with its bravura camera shots, you may spy Gilliam's influence in the machinima. Hawks is the estate manager of the Lost Gardens of Apollo, itself one of the great regions of SL for at least three years. As Mr. Hawks suggests, many of the places archived by his machinima will eventually disappear, sometimes gone overnight simply because the owner tired of paying the bill. For now, however, they're still in-world, available to be seen first hand. Courtesy of SamLowry Hawks, here's a list of just about all the locations in the video, with direct teleport SLurl links, after the break:
