The Strength of the SL Blogosphere, As Seen From Behind
How strong are the ties of the Second Life blogosphere? Generally, bloggers naturally affiliate with each other by sharing a common interest (pop culture, political affiliation, vocation, etc.), and you can best get a sense of their community by tracking the way the same idea or opinion is shared, expanded, and commented upon, from one blog in the network to the next. With the Second Life blogosphere, the commonality is an immersive virtual world, so the sharing tends to work a bit more, well, vividly.
Point of reference: when an SL blogger named Marnix Malifozik announces he'd like to spread a meme called "nekkid but tasteful butt pics", and offers his own to get things started, a deluge of bare ass blogging avatars are sure to follow: to wit, Ms. Banana Vella, Ms. Rylan Carling, Ms. Quaintly Tuqiri, Ms. Nimil Blackflag and Mr. Lucas Gerard, Ms. Alicia Chenaux, Ms. Tymmerie Thorne, Ms. Gospeed Racer and friends, Mr./Ms./Not- Entirely-Sure-Does-It-Matter-Probably-Not Crap Mariner, and pictured in thumbnail here, Ms. Chestnut Rau. I'm sure I'm missing many; if so, post in Comments and I'll update accordingly. Only in order to illustrate the network ties of the SL blogosphere, of course.
