Mirrorlabs' Second Life-to-Web 3D Avatar Project Accepting Alpha Inquiries

Mirrorlabs Last weekend, I caught up with my pal Pierce Portocarrero, who I first met as a great innovator of Second Life machinima like this one. In recent years he hasn't been as involved in SL for various reasons, but as I discovered Saturday, he is actually working on a very intriguing Second Life-related project: Mirrorlabs, a technology that aims to make it possible to export your SL avatar in 3D onto the web. It's the brainchild of Delaney Whippet, who also created this Flash-based skin creator that's generated much enthusiasm among fashionistas. I plan on writing more about it in coming months (it's set for a Summer release), but for now, you can sign up here to get additional info on Mirrorlabs' upcoming alpha phase.
