How to Compose Art Installations in a 3D Virtual Space

Bryn Composition

Acclaimed metaverse artist Bryn Oh has very a valuable how-to post on aesthetic compositions of 3D installations, using her latest work, the IBM-sponsored "Rabbicorn", as an example. Up to a point, her advice would also apply to aesthetic composition for real world art installations. A challenge unique to Second Life, however, is that users can detach their camera view from their avatar. "It is our most powerful tool and in my opinion more superhuman than our ability to fly in SL!" she writes. "We can have an out of body experience at will..." So she offers advice on composition which assumes that ability too. Fascinating stuff, read it all here. Image credit: Ms. Oh.
