How To Get Subtle Facial Expressions From SL Avatars

Melanie Kidd expressionsMelanie Kidd has a very useful tutorial for displaying subtle emotional expressions in your avatar, simply through tweaking the default customization sliders. (To achieve a stern look, for example, you start by making the avatar's eyes and lip width slightly narrower.) An especially handy resource for ambitious screenshot artists and machinimators, or for that matter, anyone who isn't satisfied with the avatar emotional expressions available to them via the Lindens' on-board animations or Resident custom tools, which often tend toward the overly dramatic and cartoonish.
