Torley Linden, Second Life’s “Resident Enlightenment Manager" will be celebrated at the Second Annual  “St. Torley’s Day” Sunday September 13th at noon with a watermelon-y party at the Four Kittens of the Apocalypse. The first hour will feature a live concert by Kaklick Martin. Next there will be dancing to Torley’s own musical compositions, a “melon-go-round”, the grid’s most heavily armed watermelon piñata, and more surprises. Then at 2PM there will be a St. Torley Day service at The First Church of Rosedale (Immersionist), which is devoted to the worship of Philip Linden, founder of Linden Lab.  Services are held on occasional Sundays and those of all colors, sizes, furs, and historical eras are welcome. Thursday 9/10

3:30PM -  AngelGate Gallery Presents "The History of SL Arts"

Today AngelGate Gallery launches the first in planned series of events entitled, "The History of SL Arts". At the inaugural event AngelGate proudly presents "Starax: The Legend".  This exhibition features one hundred and forty sculptures by Starax and Light Waves, from the collection of second life resident Jeri Rahja. The series and this first event was organized by White Lebed, AngelGate Gallery Curator, working in conjunction with  Ms Rahja. As part of the event, there will be an auction for several pieces with a portion of the proceeds raised going to support the gallery.  Festivities will begin with an hour long performance by Brad "JooZz" Monett, followed by an hour of discussion about the work of the artist and then concludes with an hour long set by Eth Tedeschi. 4:30PM - Virtually Speaking

Beginning at 4:30pm enjoy 90 minutes of Populist Americana. 5PM - Beginner Sailing Lessons

Skilled Sailor, Race Course Design Assistant and Mermaid Isis Rexie, will be giving sailing lessons at Mango Yacht Club near the Light House.  Please come prepared to learn and have lots of fun.  No sailboat is required as one will be provided free of charge. 5PM - CQ Bravin at Extreme Reality

CQ is the SL counterpart of the RL indie/folk project known as "The Colorful Quiet" Influenced by R.E.M., Flaming Lips and the Beatles among others his music is laid back and consists of both originals and covers. Friday  9/11               

Sept 11 All Day - OWK 9/11 Remembrance Walk

OWK in SL will be remembering the brave and heroic people who took part in the rescue of the survivors and those who died on the 11th of September, 2001.  They are collecting donations for the children of the victims of
the 911 tragedy through the charity Tuesday's Children.  Join in this 24 hour vigil by walking the paths and lighitng a memory candle.  In Owk. [SLurl teleport at this link]

3PM - 9/11 Memorial at O'Casey's Bar

To tie in with the 9th anniversary of the tragic events in NYC, O'Casey's will be doing a special reading of sections from Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn's haunting book "102 Minutes: The Untold Story of the Fight to Survive Inside the Twin Towers." 3PM - 9/11 Remembrance Day

MCA presents an afternoon of remembering those that perished and the events of September 11th 2001.  The remembrance events start with poetry by Jeff Lowbeam backed by Pianist Abso Zlatkis at 3PM.  Then at 4PM the soft guitar sounds of Joaquin Gustav will fill the air.  In the 5 o'clock hour awards will be presented to MCA artists with musical accompaniment by DJ Simon Janic.  Finally, there will be more poetry as read by Juliet3d quinzet.  In Alajuela.   [SLurl teleport at this link]

3PM - Jean Munro at The Bay

Jean Munro is a vocalist and keyboard player who performs classic jazz tunes and contemporary songs. She might also surprise you by jumping into other genres from rock to classical.  Jean has a smoky vocals and a deep repertoire that is sure to entertain. 6PM - Club Solstice Grand Opening Featuring Allister Westland 

Allister Westland's performances consist of a mix of classic rock and modern popular rock cover tunes as well as a collection of original material that showcases his musical diversity. 7PM - Dann Numbers Live at the Coolibah Grand Opening

Coolibah will be holding a Grand Opening celebration this evening.  Live musical entertainment will be provided by the always fun, wonderfully talented Dann Numbers.   Dann is a singer songwriter so you can expect original music with a catchy hook. 7AM - Norris Shepherd Live at the Blarney Stone 

Norris Shephed is a New Brunswick (Canada) farm boy armed with an acoustic guitar, his voice, and the occasional bottle of homemade wine. He draws from an eclectic collection of songs including folk, pop/rock, Canadian indie and alternative  to which he adds a few originals on occasion. Noon - PopArt Lab Celebrates 1st Anniversary

The Pop Art Lab has existed for a full year now, bringing appreciative audiences the best in SL live music. In honor of this achievement they are having a day full of performances starting at noon with a DJ to warm up the crowd.  At 1PM Avvy Banzrane takes the stage, followed by Obeloinkment Wrigglesworth at 1:30.  Mankind Tracer plays at 2:00 followed by Starflower Orbit. Noon - "To Wear My Skin" - Performance Art by Vaneeesa Blaylock with Live Music by Keiko Takamura

Come see original performance art by Vaneeesa Blaylock and her  troupe entitled "To wear my skin."  The performance piece explores how our avatars represent identity. 5PM - Matthew Perreault Live at Triumph Cove 

Born and raised in rural Texas, Matthew spent 10 years navigating the murky waters of the North Texas music scene in a variety of rock bands. Noon - PM Bookmite Live at The Jester Inn 

PM Bookmite rececntly returned to the SL live music scene after a few months away touring in RL. This talented musician comes to SL with a rich background in music and performing. 4PM - 6:30 PM  Mixed Reality Live Music to Celebrate Maximillion Kleene's 3rd Rez Day

In celebration of Maximillion Kleene's Rez Day, Max and his friends Mimi Carpenter and Hathead Rickenbacker will be performing at Cafe Taste in Toronto.  Both video and audio of the party will be streaming into SL and out of SL.  In addition some of Max's friends will be performing in SL as well.  At 3PM Strum Diesel will perform from Genevieve Silvercloud Gallery in SL.  At 4PP Mimi Carpenter, Max and Hathead Richekbacker will perform together at the Cafe Taste in Toronto and finally at 6:30 PM Bookmite will perform in SL.  This event is sure to be a big old dance party so make sure you don't miss it! Ballet pixelle 5PM - Ballet Pixelle Performing "Living Goddess" 

Ballet Pixelle will perform its latest 3-act original ballet based on the real story of the "Living Goddess", or Kumari Devi, who is worshiped in Nepal. Chosen as a child, she becomes a living goddess. What does this mean? Through ritual and tradition, she provides hope, peace, and serenity to her troubled people. 6PM - FunkyFreddy Republic at Heron Island. 

Head over to HIPS for an hour of amazing guitar and the warm voice from the wonderful FunkyFreddy Republic. http://www.thesixtyone.com/Funkyfreddy/  Fred has been best known in SL for playing lead guitar with Montian Gilruth.
