Open Forum: What Are the Best Blog Posts on Burning Life?

Nawlins Streeter mousetrap

Paulina Oceanlane of Who Lets the Dorks Out has a really nice, multi-part review of Burning Life 2009: part 1 here, part 2 here, part 3 here, part 4 here. One big reason it's so good: Copious SLurl links, so readers can jump directly from Paulina's post to the installations she's writing about and photographing. (Something so many other SL bloggers keep forgetting to include.) Thanks to Ms. Oceanlane, when I read from her that, say, someone named Nawlins Streeter has built an avatar-sized version of the classic boardgame Mousetrap, three click will get me there. [Try it yourself with this SLurl]

That said, what other blog resources should readers be checking out before they jump into the virtual wasteland that contains Burning Life?

Update, 12:40pm: Here's a good compendium of illustrated, SLurl-annotated BL09 posts from Honour McMillan. And via Second Arts, SLurls to the Burning Life Art Department's Twelve Art Projects.

Update 2, 8:10pm: Nice write-up by Ignatius Onomatopoeia here.

Iggy O

I don't claim that my post on "Vessel's Dream" by Byrn Oh to be a "best" of anything, except for my appreciation for some amazing immersiva:

http://iggyo.blogspot.com/2009/10/arts-on-playa-burning-life-2009.html

Covers "Vessel's Dream," the Gulliver Build, and "Towards the Future."

Don't miss Oh's work.

That's a pretty good post, Iggy! For credit, is your avatar name "Iggy O"? That's what's on the blog, but I thought it was actually Ignatius Onomaonapaia or something.

Ignatius Onomatopoeia

Hamlet, thanks. I'm continually inspired by the works of SL's artists.

I should use my full SL name, because I can actually spell it most days. So many folks call me Iggy that I just gave up.

Lesson One in choosing an SL name: something you can type when drunk or tired :)

Hamlet Au

That's it!

Three cheers for Paulina's excellent guide. :D

The conversation at Metanomics Thursday the 22nd was my favorite "blog post" so to speak.

Ig ... when you're drunk and in need of typing, your name is Ig... I'm DD... your Ig. Nice to meet ya.

Gianna Borgnine has a great post covering some fantastic installations that are not to be missed.

Thanks so much for the backlink, Hamlet, and for the other links to Burning Life guides, none of which I had known!

I would like to add the Koinup blog, which has tons of pictures, information and SLURLS: http://blog.koinup.com/search/label/Burning%20Life%202009

And Naritay Rayna from the "Love/Hate" blog has written a few nice posts about BL installations with pictures and SLURLS.
