Search Tips for xStreetSL Shoppers

XStreetSL search

Ciaran Laval of Your 2nd Place has some useful search tips for better shopping on xStreetSL, the Lindens' virtual ecommerce site which is choked over with merchandise, and can often overwhelm. If your want to buy a "magic box", for example, but don't want to look at Adult-rated items associated with those terms (if you know what I mean and I think you do), "try Magic Box -sex," Cieran explains, "and hit search and this removes from results any parcels with sex as a term." Much more here.

You're quoting her completely out of context, and that's rather irresponsible as a journalist. The bolded quote you gave refers to in-world searches for parcels, not xStreetSL searches. Her article's not just about xStreetSL searches, but also about in-world searches. There are xStreetSL tips given, but later on in the article.

Here's the rest of that quote:
"Now I might decide, I don't want to go to parcels that have sex on them, some people don't. So I could try Magic Box -sex and hit search and this removes from results any parcels with sex as a term."

I didn't write that piece as well as I should have. magic Box -sex should work both inworld and on Xstreet.

Some parts are Xstreet specific, others are inworld specific.

Thanks for the link :) I hope some folk get something useful from it.
