How to Make Mesh Words in SL With Google Sketchup

2D signs in a 3D world are among my biggest pet peeves, so I was happy to come across this useful-looking tutorial which shows you how to create mesh-based words for Second Life (and other COLLADA-compatible platforms) in Google Sketcup. (Video by Chaotic Ghost.)

Interference

Not something I'd encourage anyone to use often, as this process is going to make insanely high poly (and therefore high prim) meshes. Far better to do this in something like Blender (or, at least, import your letters from Sketchup into Blender before importing it into SL) and hand reduce and neaten the mesh from there.
