Survey Results: Second Life or Something Like It Will Survive to 2023 (But Only Some Say It Will Be Stronger)

Second Life 10 year anniversary

With 338 NWN readers responding, a clear majority (56%) say Second Life or something like it will be around 10 years from now, in 2023. Notable that only 17% say Second Life will not just survive, but thrive. Many online communities exist for years and years, long after their prime:

The Well, for instance, which has a lot affinity to Second Life, been around for nearly 30 years. But The Well, once hugely influential to Internet culture, is no longer central to it in the slightest (and I say that as a member). My hope is Second Life finds a way of regaining some of its influence in the next 10 years.
