The Drax Files Goes Ourobouros: Watch A Machinima Mini-Doc About A Machinima Maker, Then Make Your Own
It's that time again! Draxtor Despres is back with an all-new episode of The Drax Files: World Makers, his ongoing mixed reality documentary project that shares the real and virtual lives of some of Second Life's most creative and outspoken users. Episode 12 introduces us to the man behind Ole Etzel and the Mr. Bones machinima series.
Watching this machinima ourobouros might just give you an itch to direct a virtual production of your own, and you're in luck if it does... But first thing's first. Watch episode 12 of The Drax Files after the cut.
If that got your directorial juices flowing, you should consider signing up for The 48 Hour Machinima Project, a branch of The 48 Hour Film Project taking place between the 8th and 10th of November 2013. The challenge is pretty straightforward, and it will likely sound familiar if you've ever participated in writing, art, or game-making jams. You (and your team) will be tasked with creating a machinima film in the span of a weekend, being careful to follow the event's rules as you do (outlined here and here).
If you're interested, be sure to register soon. Space is limited, and there are few things as disappointing as being stuck on a waitlist with your fingers crossed.
