Oculus Rift Raises $75 million - More Than Enough to Take VR Mass Market

Oculus Rift Second Life

In case you missed the news last week, Oculus Rift announced it's raised $75 million in venture funding. So on top of the $16M or so it raised last June and the $2.5 million it raised during the Kickstarter which started it all, we're talking more than enough money to move the Rift beyond a niche hardcore gamer/VR geek market into the mainstream. (You know, like I said probably needs to happen, for Second Life to have a, yes, second life.) At the same time, I can't help thinking Jeri Ellsworth VR/AR system is a better way to go. (Oculus Rift buyout offer?)
