Janine "Iris Ophelia" Hawkins' ongoing review of gaming and virtual world style

It's easy to have a lot of preconceived notions about what roleplayers are wearing in SL, especially when it comes to elves. Maybe you think of Arwen and Galadriel's gowns, the occasional piece of embellished leather armor, or every shade of brown and green on the spectrum. Well, if you want to shatter just about all of your ideas about what fantasy-inspired elves should be wearing in-character, Arica Storaro's blog, The Blogging Elf, is for you.

Arica's strong point is incorporating pieces not necessarily designed with roleplayers in mind. Modern clothing and accessories appear frequently in her outfits, but she always manages to work them in so seamlessly that it might take you a moment to realize that the last time you saw that top it was on an avatar who looked like she'd stumbled straight out of Vogue. At the same time, Arica's not without many of the traditional trappings of elven roleplay. More often than not her vivid snapshots place her in some of the most well-crafted natural environments in SL, hewn wood bow firmly in hand.

It's all this that makes The Blogging Elf one of the most remarkable gems of SL fashion blogging. Check it out for yourself here, or visit Arica's Flickr here.

I would absolutely recommend this if Elves were trustworthy, they're not, I mean they're more trustworthy than, hobbits, but they are most definitely sneaky, tread with caution.

Omg! Thank you!!! I totally didn't see this until now and thank you SO much for featuring my blog here. :) Super much appreciated and a big compliment, too, especially from an opinionated person. :) That counts twice!
