... well, not exactly, but definitely an opportunity to showcase your live music at a prominent SL venue before a large audience. The BBC is opening up the giant island where they held their One Big Weekend simulcast last May to up-and-coming artists. Extended info here, and details for SL Residents here, but the bottom line is this: every Sunday throughout the summer, the BBC's island will play host to Second Life musicians performing in-world-- singers and groups, doing original works or covers-- and they've launched a talent search to find them. It's a chance to become the next Frogg Marlowe, or considering all the real world record labels now creating a presence in Second Life, perhaps a chance to get noticed and launched into even greater stardom.
Like the BBC's concert event, the talent search is being coordinated by Fizik Baskerville and his virtual world branding company Rivers Run Red (for which I'm a part-time consultant, though not on this project.)
