This is an ongoing (and by no means exlusive) compilation of places I've visited and/or reported on that are also my personal recommendations for some of the very best sights and experiences Second Life has to offer. When someone asks you, "What's there to do in SL besides gambling and dancing at night clubs?", I hope you send them this link. I also intend to update it frequently, so if there's places and builds that absolutely need to be on it, post a description and SLURL in Comments, or e-mail me.
radeNote: most of these entries include a direct teleport SLURL to the location, or keywords to find the location via SL's Find button. When all else fails, IM the individual creator featured in the story.

Very cool, Hamlet. Here's an education-focused list we're keeping updated on the Education Wiki that folks might find userful/interesting: http://simteach.com/wiki/index.php?title=Top_20_Educational_Locations_in_Second_Life

Hamlet:
You once visited me while embarking on your Great Expedition II in late March of 2004. You and your traveling companions, a large and varied bunch of vagabonds, stopped to rest at my great grandpa's lookout in the middle of Rodeo (http://secondlife.blogs.com/nwn/2004/03/index.html). Much has happened since your visit. The Forest of Kahruvel has grown to over 200,000 sq. m. and covers many of the regions just east of the Abbotts Aerodrome on the Mainland, including Cowell, Stinson, Rodeo, Noyo, Davenport, Palomarian and Bodega. Most of it is a big natural expanse of evergreens. Lots going on there. Please check out the new web site for an update (http://web.mac.com/salazarjack/iWeb/Site/Welcome.html). Here's a SLurl for the lookout (http://slurl.com/secondlife/Rodeo/119/72//?x=303&y=270&img=http%3A//web.mac.com/salazarjack/iWeb/Site/Welcome_files/Forest%2520of%2520Kahruvel%2520031305_002.png&title=The%20Forest%20of%20Kahruvel).

I know I'm bias (although by dint of being Muslim - I'm not the builder or owner), but I still think the mosque on Chebi is quite beautiful and so do all the visitors I have ever spoken to - who are of all faiths and none. A hospitable welcome guaranteed :-)
