"Here I am on a typical work day in my custom-made office pod overlooking an island called I built called Esperance," Gary Hazlitt e-mails me. (Direct portal here.) He developed the island for a real world film/TV/radio school. "[It's] been hard work creating the machinima areas, theatres, cinemas, film set backlots, display and play areas, but well worth it.
"Our time is permanently set to twilight, dreamtime," he goes on, "and I specially added the red earth texture to match a book I have from the bio world called Australia.
"I am relaxing in this picture after just running a class here, in games and Second Life sound design. The day ended with a wonderful UK/Australia live audio/SL linkup. Robbie Dingo [recently] gave a live masterclass to eight of our professional students-- it was a fantastic session." Behind him is an ongoing project in a neighboring island from a Resident "who is busy architecting the future."
"I like to relax at home in
Blueberry," he adds, "which is far less hectic and
less connected-- I have way too many computers in my pod here."
And where in the world do you live? Take a look at the entire Window series for inspiration, read the details for submitting to NWN's World From My Window series, then send me a screenshot or video link of your SL home or favorite haunt.
