Like
it or not, weapons are a part of the Second Life experience. Kitty
Rich is teaching a course on Thursday November 9 at 2AM SLT on the
"sensible use of weapons"
that will cover the basic rules and protocols for using weapons,
experiment with a few, and explain what constitutes weapons
abuse. Learn how to play safely and legally in SL and how to handle
those who don't peacefully. First rule: don't shoot a push gun wearing
roller skates. At Kuula (54, 175).
Also
coming up this week, a NASA project comes to SL, support for weight
loss, battling 'bot action, horseracing, and meditation for the weary
avatar soul.

Wednesday, November 8
Jenna
Tapioca has created the "Loss for Life" group to provide free and
accessible weight loss support through a weekly weigh-in,
record-keeping, an award system for meeting goals, education on weight
loss, and general chat to discuss concerns or successes. All you need
to join is your own scale. At Blackslough (62,60).
Learn
how to build your own plane during this course which will be taught

All
poets from novice to experienced are invited to come share their works

all you aspiring Aimee Weber's out there, Jennifer McLuhan will be
teaching a class on clothing design for the non-graphic artist,
including such subjects as the SL Avatar model, use of UV maps
(templates), where to get UV Maps/templates, using patterns &
textures in the design, and using DAZ & Poser Studios to preview
your clothing. At Rustic (179,228).
Keiko Takamura will be performing her own songs and covers at the Lily Pad Lounge.
A
non-denominational gathering of residents who want to pray and meditate
together. Special focus for the month of November is on hospice care.

Sunday, November 11
Drew Frobozz of the
NASA AMES Research Center will
talk about an exciting new project in SL led by NASA in association
with the International Spaceflight Museum. At Spaceport Alpha (48,78).
'Art
in the Park' is a unique art gallery that mixes art and music in a
natural outdoorsy setting. The artist Conde has donated three pieces of
his art to be sold by silent auction with the proceeds going to
The Pies Descalzos Foundation. This
event will be followed by a live concert by Bill & Pam Havercamp at
5-6pm SLT, another Meet The Artist from 6-7pm, and then fireworks at
