From December 1-3 you will get a whole new view of the cosmos as seven new planetarium shows premiere at Spaceport Alpha. With such provocative titles as "Our Cosmic Address," "Collapsing Into Creation," and "Going on a Bear Hunt," the inaugural showings will be hosted by
their creators, students in Chaac Amarula's astronomy
class. Show times are: December 1 at 6PM, December 2 at 8AM, 1PM, and 6PM, and December 3 at 8AM, 1PM, and 6PM. Port over to Spaceport Alpha (24,53) to check them all out.

4:00AM-7:00AM - ITD Virtual Science Conference
The Institute of
Temporal Dynamics, inc. (ITD) is hosting a mock virtual science conference from Nov. 25-30 to gain feedback for a planned full-scale SL
science conference in 2007. "Please come by, look around, and tell us
what works and what doesn't!" Results will be presented at the American
Geophysical Union Fall Meeting 2006 in San Francisco, California. At Lupus (226,127).
3:30PM - Discussion on Aspiration in SL
Come by to discuss how the media announcement of Anshe Chung's success affects the world of Second Life. At SupportforHealing (85,227).
10PM - Class on Flexi-prims and Local Lighting
Rowan Carroll teaches a class on SL's newest advanced building tools -- local lighting and
flexible prims. Requirement: NCI Advanced Building class (or

8PM - Halou Performing Live at DNA Lounge and in SL
Electronica artist Halou will be performing live at the DNA Lounge celebrating their new EP, "Albatross." Also performing: DJ DNA Prototype. At Achado (70,179).
8:30PM - LSL Scripting 101 Class
Scripting is omnipresent in SL: It's behind all the little clogs and
wheels which make the world work. In this class, you will learn about the
basic design behind Linden Scripting Language (LSL) code, how to
write some basic code, and find out ways to gain greater
mastery of the scripting language. At Info Island (248,101).

Friday December 1
3AM - SL Community Church Grand Opening
The Second Life Community Church pastors Stephen Arnold and Colton Lock welcome all Christians to the grand opening of their non-denominational church. At New Harmony (159, 116, 22).
12PM - Launch of Forex Currency Exchange
Starting at noon on December 1, trading begins at the newest in-world currency exchange: the Forex. Trading begins with a 10:1 margin, with trade between the Linden Dollar and six other major world currencies --the US dollar, British pound, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Japanese yen and the euro. 7PM - Heath Elvehjem Live at Starcity
Heath Elvehjem presents a mix of jazz, classical, and pop piano rolled
into a contemporary instrumental sound. At Drum (82,22).
8PM - "Who Shot Santa" Murder Mystery Theater

Come to the speaking stage outside the Talis Science Fiction and

an hour-long discussion hosted by Fleet Goldenberg
about the spiritual energy control techniques used in the manga/anime

6PM - Lenne Moskvitch Art Show
The Skyscrapes Gallery is throwing their grand opening gala featuring the art pieces of Lenne Moskvitch. At Heisenberg (246,75).

3AM- Learn to Play Golf
Come to the Holly Kai Golf Club and
learn to play the sport steeped in tradition of St. Andrews.
Kitty Sprocket will teach a basic course on SL golf, and afterwards you will have time to practice on the Ocean Nine golf
course. Green Fees are $350 for 3 hours, $250 for 1 1/2 hours and $150

1PM - Grand Opening of Rockcliffe University
Rockcliffe University, a new educational institution in SL, will be hosting campus tours from 1pm to
3pm today. The Rockcliffe University SL Campus is associated with the
Rockcliffe School of Business, dedicated to providing online education in the fields of

4PM & 6PM - Art in the Park with Esch Snoats
Art in the Park invites you to meet the artist Esch Snoats and check out his art show, "A Study In Sleep Depravation." Showings are from 4-5PM and 6-7PM. New Age Pianist Heath Elvehjem will perform live from 5-7PM with fireworks at 7PM to boot! At Hobak (163,65).

Virtual Suburbia and The Arch will be co-hosting an informal gathering to welcome new architects to SL and bring people who love architecture together. I don't play favorites. We tend to run the events that people send in to us (see above for contact info.) And then we scan for events on the calendar and blogs and elsewhere that strikes us as particularly interesting or innovative.
