On Friday December 8, at 9AM SLT, actress and activist Mia Farrow will be appearing in-world at the Infinite Mind sim to talk about the genocidal conflict in Darfur and her recent trip to neighboring Chad. Along with Ms. Farrow's talk, a multi-media exhibit will show images and video from Darfur. The exhibit, entitled "Our Walls Bear Witness - Darfur: Who Will Survive Today?", will remain on view until December 12. (Direct SLURL teleport.)
Also on the event horizon, two fashion shows, skybox (in)security, gimpy software, an open university, and the science of Star Trek.

Viewscapes: Ireland
Through December, husband and wife team Michelle Morphett and John Ulysses present the art show "Viewscapes: Ireland" featuring 30 photos from their travels around the Irish countryside. Their work can be seen
at the House of the Harping Monkey, which is appropriately an Irish pub

5PM - Discussion on Skybox Security
Just how private is the average "private skybox"? If you're
counting on altitude, thin walls, and locked doors to keep out the
curious, there's a good chance it might not be as secure as you'd like.

7PM - Kirsten Corleone Live
Kirsten Corleone will be performing at the Lily Pad Lounge. Look for a range of cover songs made famous by such artists as Norah Jones,

10AM - Class on How to Use Gimp
Gimp is a free, open source graphics editing program. This class, taught using audio chat, is for individuals interested in using Gimp to create clothing for SL. At Info Island (187,118).

Open University UK will hold an inaugural meeting at the Three Lions Pub in the Beer Garden. Students, alumni and staff of the Open

5PM - Kaklick Martin at Shelter in Exile
Kaklick Martin will be playing an ecclectic mix of covers and original tunes mostly accompanied by the acoustic guitar for Shelter-ites at Swinside (220,104).

10AM - Autism Museum Work Party
Volunteers are needed to help build displays in the Autism Museum and
fill out the Borges Library. Tasks will include: cutting and pasting documents for inclusion in e-books, preparing graphics for the
wall displays, and researching and referencing displays. Meet up at the

10AM - Lecture on the Science of Star Trek
The StarFleet Academy SLQ Library presents a lecture by Mr Fleet Goldenberg who
will be speaking on "The Science of Star Trek." At Galaxy (179,83).
2PM - Nefaria Abel Fashion Show
Nefaria Abel will be showing her latest clothing designs during a runway fashion show at Expression's Cafe. Neferia's line includes flexiprim formals,
dresses, anime wear, and comfortable casuals for both men

4PM - Transgender Resource Center Open House
The Transgender Resource Center is holding a grand opening event and
open house, welcoming all who are interested in gender identity issues. The TRC has information related to cross dressing, drag
culture, and transsexualism as well as a warm, open, and serious-minded

6PM - Carolling by Bill and Pam Havercamp at McDunnoughs
