MLK day is next Monday. To celebrate Dr. King's legacy, and inspired by "The Skin You're In", dga Kymoon recently sent me a marvelous suggestion:
In honor of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday, Residents are encouraged to enter Second Life as an avatar of a different race. A different race than they are in real life, a different race than they usually are in Second Life, or both. Spend a day living in the world embodied in the skin of another, and for a short time, make it yours.
And on the 15th, I'll create an Open Forum, where people can share their experiences, screenshots, and video, all of which I'll highlight throughout the week.
Next you will want us to hug and snuggle, come on...

Awesome idea. I changed my skin tone to another equally strange color.

I think this is a good idea, but I'm reminded of a rather telling quote from - of all things - the movie Soul Man:
"So now you know what it's like to be black."
"No, I don't. I could quit doing it anytime I wanted."

Had to co-opt the event, just a little bit, to remember an old but relevant story.
And you hit the nail right on the head there, Mick.
