While watching TV in the material world, Iris Ophelia suddenly saw the trailer for Grindhouse, "and was just... frozen." The following dialog transpired:
Me: Her leg is a GUN.
Roommate: ...
Me: A GUN.
Roommate: It IS Tarantino.
"And I knew I HAD to do it in SL." Thus possessed by a "manic creative urge", New World Notes' fashion expert put together some invisible primitives and a custom pose, and whipped up this delirious tribute to Robert Rodriguez's dangerously stumpy heroine.
"And yes," Miss Ophelia adds, "it is a working gun." (Though for technical reasons, besides the more obvious one, firing it is "a little awkward.") More about Iris' innovations, and a sumptuous poster to boot, after the break.
"I made the amputated leg base with some invisiprims and half a sphere," Iris Ophelia explains. "The poses I just whipped up in Poser."
But it takes an army of content creators to make a badass amputee: "The avatar is hair and skin from Naughty Designs, top is from the Infinikini line at Celestial Studios. The skirt is a combination of the laced side shorts from Pixeldolls and the miniskirt prim from on of the DoMoCo releases, the boot is the wrapped stiletto from Shiny Things. The LR-300 RIS rifle I found at Breach and it's by Huns Valen."
Poster and poses are available at Iris' store. "The muzzle flash in the picture is Photoshopped," she adds. "It's not that cool looking." Cool enough, however, for me.
Oh, that poster just has to go up in my loft right now!
(And, non sequitorishly, the syntax of your conversation--A GUN--Iris, reminded me of the Onion's "The Fucking Moon.")

Oh you need to post a video of this avatar to YouTube and see if you get a take-down">http://www.rikomatic.com/blog/2007/03/viacom_takes_do.html">take-down order!

(I just noticed the Digg links.)
What a fine assemblage! I didn't previously know that Huns Valen crafted fine weapons of this sort.
Heck, take one letter out of "Grindhouse" and what do we have? Gridhouse!

Hans Valen did the scripting and is listed at the "creator", but Eata Kitty, weaponsmith extraordinaire, did the actual building and texturing, which is why the Huns Valen name may have surprised you, Torley. ^^

Wow! I saw the commercial before I saw this and I said to myself, wouldn't that be awesome if someone made an avatar like that chick with a gun for a leg and what do ya know! Too bad its not on the TG, oh well! Still awesome none the less!
