From March 10-11 come by for the first Second Life Diversity Festival taking place in Han Loso (teleport SLURL). Organizer Verum Vacirca promises "speakers, discussion, streaming world music, literature and cultural displays from around the world." One highlight of the two-day festival will be a drumming and chanting demonstration led by Stacey Fox on Sunday, March 11 at 1pm.
Speaking of diversity, there's a huge variety of interesting stuff happening over the next days that you might want to check out, from floral photography to French guitarists, Belgian rockers, Swedish modern dancers, Second Life triathletes, and poker for a cause. Master French guitarist JeanChristophe Chevalier will be performing
classical and modern repertoire at The Bluffs Art Center. JeanChristophe is described as "eclectic in the heart, touch-with-all exaggerated, he mixes styles in
an improbable interbreeding: classical music, Celtic, blues,
electronics." At Lappet (76, 229).
1PM - Euro-Friendly New Player Show and Tell
Host Yumi Murakami invites newbies to a European-time friendly match of "New Player Show & Tell." In this game, new residents (90 days or younger) are invited to present any of their own creations, which are voted on by the audience. Cash prizes for the winners. Worried that your real world physique doesn't match your avatar's tone muscles? Come by the SL Triathlon spinning classes for a workout in real life, facilitated in Second Life. In SL your
avatar pedals an exercise bike, while in real life, you work out
on your own stationary bike. (Or your could just cheat like me and type panting sounds into chat.) At Envy (159, 56)
12PM - Glensgreval Belgian Rockers on the Spunky Stage

6PM - GHava Center for the Arts Presents New York Artists' Exhibition

8AM - Performance by Swedish Modern Dance Group
The Second Life Modern Dance Theatre, based in Stockholm, Sweden,
present a mixed-reality performance happening simultaneously at The
Office (teleport SLURL) and at the Swedish Royal Institute of Technology. Eight avatars
will dance within a scene placed in The Office, the appearance of the scene changing as the SL audience moves around to different scripted seats.
The dance performance will be streamed live to The Royal Institute on five
screens, replicating the stage in SL.
4PM - New Resident Q & A
Have a burning question about SL and don't know where to turn? Bob Bunderfeld, a long-term resident
and mentor offers to answer all SL-related questions. Note that this is a mixed-media event, with questions submitted over text (or
emailed to [email protected]) and answered over audio stream. At Kissling (21, 159).
4PM - Kaklick Martin and Shiger Seattle at the Abbey
Kaklick Martin and Shiger Seattle perform live at The Abbey, a newly opened, quaint little pub in SkyBeam (teleport SLURL).

5PM - Poker Tourney for Ayeshe Millions
Gamblers with a heart are invited to participate in a poker tournament to raise funds for SL designer Ayeshe Millions who suffers from acoustic neuroma and has two
tumors in her brain. Profits from the Tourney will go toward her treatment in New York. This is a multitable tournament with a L$ 2750 buy-in. At Myth Poker House at MythLand (245, 118).

World music expert Stacey Fox will be lecturing and then performing with various percussion instruments and
demonstrating various vocal techniques from Indian,
Senegalese, Japanese, Tuvan, Tibetan and Native American traditions. At Han Loso (103, 60).
7PM - Advanced Land Ownership Class
Shippou Oud teaches how to buy and sell land in SL. This class covers pricing, terraforming, mainland versus
islands, land auctions, "rare" land, and how to maximize the value of a
plot of land for sale. Shippou strongly suggests you attend NCI's Basic Land Ownership class (or equivalent) before taking this class. At Hamnida (237, 83).
