"What you're watching right now is a diary I've kept to explain how I ended up living in this online world... and why I left my straight world life... behind."
So begins Part I in a series of videos that you must watch start watching now. Evocative, vivid, and beautifully produced, it purports to reveal the story of an individual who disappeared from his California home, only to appear in-world, in avatar form. Whatever it is, it's most certainly an irrefutable testament to SL's maturity as a filmmaker's medium. See it here, and marvel.
Update, March 6: In Comments, the video's producer points to the high-res version of the movie.
Thanks for the heads-up. You're right--that's incredible--and incredibly well done.

AND MARVEL I DID.
OMG... I have such rave words for this... this is one of ze finest pieces of Second Life machinima I've seen to date! The editing, the pacing, the raw narrative I can relate to of coming into Second Life and finding yourself so fully immersed, and even an alternate introductory sequence (no Orientation Island!?) with the metallic-coated avatar of Molotov Alva. Kudos to Douglas Gayeton and crew!
I am especially pleased to observe the contributions of Orhalla Zander, founder of the Calleta Infohub. He's come a long way from his hobo roots, and now... apparently he's the Hobo King (compleat with new skin?!) in future episodes of this work! 6 more to go too! Second Life... where a hobo can be a hobo king — and more than that, don't typecast him! His texturing skills are rather versatile.
Head to http://www.molotovalva.com to learn more!
Gosh, so good, so good. I really feel a lot of emotion from this.
Thanx for showcasing this, Hamlet... I can't wait 'til the next eps!

What I want to know, and I know this has been posted elsewhere, but is this the same Molotov from the circuit books?

What I wanna know is how did he get the video of him walking face on towards the camera?

A second camera person. That's the least impressive bit of the whole thing.

D'oh...silly me. I guess I am spending too much time on my own in there trying to figure things out. Totally never even occured to me that another camera person would be involved. I was also impressed by the overall feel of the piece.
