Who are you in Second Life, and how has it influenced the rest of your life? Wolkam Winger, editor of the French-language SL Observer, is working with a psychologist to compile an extensive survey of SL as it is lived, not for marketing purposes, but educational research, with data freely available to all. And I'm anxious to publish the results here.
Take their survey here. Read about it more here.
UPDATE, OCTOBER 2007: Some results and my commentary on them are here.
Do that test! Good, sometimes poignant questions and it doesn't take long.

The survey might be interesting but isn't it just another manifestation of what many other people have written about? -- how much SL has taken over people's RL. Seems that Linden Labs has not only created a popular game (and yes it is just a game), but also a popular topic for academics to waste their time and disguise that time wasting as "research."
