Rik Riel's weekly round-up of upcoming SL events...
On Sunday May 20, at 7pm, swim on over to "Sirens," a new mermaid-themed club in Shamrock (Teleport SLURL.). There'll be lots of MerFolk and MerFriendly dances. I ran into Duck Auk and Akasha Wachmann, proprietors of the Sirens Club, and asked them what was up with the mermaid theme. Akasha replied, "Mermaids are just beautiful creatures--full of mystery and magic." Duck added, "It's time to get some clubs around this place that aren't so cookie cutter. But it's not all about mermaids and fish. It's about bringing out the kid in all of us."
Also coming up this week: a new Nashville hotspot, Venician fashion, bowling for lindens, faded flowers, Dutch TV stars on the block, and exiled planets. All that and oodles more after the fold...
(All listings in SLT, i.e. Pacific Standard Time)
Opening Week of the Bluebird Cafe
The Bluebird Cafe is one
of Nashville’s most famous music venues, launching the careers of stars
like Garth Brooks and Vince Gill. This week the Bluebird goes
metaversal with the launch of an in-world club in the Nashville Music
City sim (Teleport SLURL).
Everyday you can catch live real world concerts streamed from the
Bluebird to the virtual cafe. No word on ticket prices, but plan on
spending a few lindens. I wonder if they are planning on hosting any of
SL's homegrown country music stars like Dallas Horsefly or
SinginCountry Commander?

Main guidelines:
- Events for the coming week must be received by Monday Noon SLT.
- Events posted in SL's official listing board greatly preferred.
- Events with artistic, cultural, scientific, political, creative, and/or educational value preferred.
