"What if they gave an orgy and no one came?" It's a provocative question, and Lillie Yifu (who's quickly established herself as one of the best bloggers on the topic of SL sexuality) answers it after taking a stroll through what she calls "The warrens of the undercity", i.e. some of the most popular free adult clubs in Second Life. What she finds there isn't erotic, but fascinating and insightful all the same, a hard look at the real limitations of virtual fantasy. Read it here at Raise the Red Lantern, the NC-17 spinoff to her main blog. (Obviously not work safe, unless you work at Nerve.com.)
The most spectacular thing about SL sexuality and relationships is that when you do meet someone on the other end of a connection that clicks with you, you can create a series of metaphors to convey your real life feelings for her.
The whole idea of being naked with a person is what gives SL sexuality some of its greatness. I love being able to literally take off my clothes for my SL partner, because it shows that i am also taking off my mental clothes, as that's the only thing that realy comes off anyway.
well, except for when things get really hot! :)

So what does that say about people whose idea of foreplay is to squat naked on a pose ball and wait for someone else to jump on?

Hammie, thanks for pointing out this truly insightful blog of Lillie's. I'm truly fascinated about so many incredible answers that she has given to some of my very old questions; and I think she's exactly hitting the nail on those.
Oh, and it's not just the "sex" bit, of course; Lillie's words transcend the whole sexual appeal of SL to focus on the more interesting issues of privacy and reputation, both of which are very dear to me.
