Rik Riel's weekly round-up of upcoming SL events...
Head over the Blekinge and check out Rezago Kokorin and Sunn Thunders' beautiful art/education installation they call "The Abyss." Sunn explains that the idea for the Abyss started as a spontaneous creative building project that was built around two pieces: gigantic tentacled current drifters and a "diatomaceous" glass platform. Their motivation for this project was a desire to use the tools of Second Life to bring an underwater experience to life in a way that combined art, history, fantasy, environmental awareness, and education. It looks to me like they succeeded.
At the Blekinge Sculpture Park, Blekinge (160, 26, 476) until August 31.
Also coming up this week: a William Gibson documentary, funkified Woody Guthrie, missing pages on view, education re-imagined, gadgeteers unite, witches get jiggy, and flowers have a ball. All that and more coming up this week...
