You have the floor. Monday, I'll mention noteworthy Comments in an update.
Update, 8/13: A plea to acknowledge the reality of SL behavior from Clement Nicolaescue; caricature master Cristophe Hugo announces (is this for real?) the SL recreation of a controversial Andres Serrano photo.
Hello,
I just want to make a comment about the people keep saying "it's just a game" or "it's a different life then the real one" in order to justify their action in-world (see what the WSE initiator say, see what the cheaters say to their wifes -- ref: the recent WSJ article etc etc)
People! Actions in digital environments like SL are REAL.
Only the environment is virtual and made by pixels. The actions are yours and are real.
On a phone dialog we DON’T say “my voice said” but “I said”
Also, in an YM conversation we CAN’T say “my Y! ID said” but “I said”
Exactly the same we CAN NOT say “my avatar said” or “my avatar has done this” BUT “I said” and “I’ve done this”.

I thought I'd mention to the many art-savvy SL residents the opening of a new art exhibit: a 3D rendering of a masterpiece by Andres Serrano, censored in 1989 by nobody else than our beloved Rudy Giuliani. Location of the exhibit: http://slurl.com/secondlife/CARICAVATARS/86/30/24 (caution: this is not for the faint-at-heart, you will land in the artist's very own virtual urine).
Cheers,
Christophe Hugo

(Software ate my comment, it seems; apologies if this duplicates itself)
To follow up on my last comment in the Weekend Open Forum, a snippet from an acquaintance:
"The event was fun, but I didn't really like the people very much. They would completely ignore anyone who wasn't using voice and would refer to them as "muties." They discussed how they wished the "muties" wouldn't come around."
Isn't it delightful that there's already a derogatory term for text chatters?
