The floor is yours. Monday, I'll mention noteworthy Comments in a front-page update.
Update, 9/10: Neptune Rebel notices an SL mention in Doonesbury's Sunday strip and dubs it "one of the most positive press SL has gotten". If we're lucky, in future strips Uncle Duke will get entangled with a Cayman Island-based L$ money laundering scheme involving gray goo-spewing griefers and a vigilante army of bazooka-toting furries. I've always admired Trudeau's grasp of Internet culture, especially as a cartoonist who's been working since the 60s, and this strip is no different: not a half-understood "let's show the kids we're hip" toss-off reference, but one that indicates he understands SL's utility as a non-profit donation/civic awareness-raising platform. Read it all here.
- Somewhat related to that, but on a much more somber note, Rik Riel brings word of an extraordinary 9/11 memorial. My own visit will be posted on the anniversary.
To those SL residents closely watching the RL news: Virtual Ben Laden is now showing a 3D rendering of his latest video in Second Life! Location: http://slurl.com/secondlife/CARICAVATARS/150/32/21
Virtual Ben Laden would like to take this opportunity to send a poignant message to the American people: "Being constantly chased around, for the past six years I have had to dye by beard with goat sheet. It makes my skin really itchy... Could anybody send me some professional dye, just like the one Rudy Giuliani uses on the remainder of his hair? Thanks in advance!" -- Virtual Ben Laden

For those who are looking to commemorate the World Trade Center attack on 9/11, there is a beautiful memorial here: http://slurl.com/secondlife/World%20Trade%20Center/175/85/26
3pointD and my blog rikomatic.com have some pics and commentary about it.

Doonesbury had a strip this Sunday in which a character raises money in SL then donates the money to DonorsChoose.org. It's probably one of the most positive press SL has gotten.

My unicorn story went wild in the media. :(

I knew Boing Boing would pick it up. If the unicorn had a goatse in it too, I bet Xeni would still have it on the front page.
