The Center for Connected Health, a division of Partners HealthCare and a world leader in telemedicine and other cutting edge health care technologies, will explore the possibilities of virtual health care in a conference that itself ventures into the virtual world of Second Life. As part of the Center’s annual Connected Health conference, October 22-23 at Harvard Medical School Conference Center, video of real-life sessions on health care and technology, disease management and patient-centered care, will be streamed into the ‘Connected Health Island’ in Second Life. There will also be the opportunity to attend a live and interactive simulcast of the panel specifically focused on health care and its place in the virtual world. This groundbreaking session will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. ET (7 to 8 PDT) on Monday, October 22, and can be viewed on Second Life in the conference center on the Connected Health sim. For more information or to register for the conference, please visit www.connected-health.org. Pre-registration is not required for the Second Life portions of the event; access will be on a first-come basis.
