Reuben Goes Hollywood!

Congrats to my bud and SL partner Reuben Millionsofus, who the Hollywood Reporter just named one of the "Five people leading the industry into the future", listed alongside such stalwarts as former Xbox majordomo Peter Moore.  His money quote in the profile (for my money, at least): "Somewhere in the not-to-distant future, there's going to be a junction point between social networking and virtual worlds, and that's going to present large-scale opportunities for entertainment brands and properties, both in terms of promotions and in terms of content creation and integration between traditional properties and virtual communities."  That's in the short term of the next several years; a decade or so hence, I think, online worlds will be seen as traditional, and it'll be film and television that become the niche mediums spun off from the metaverse.
