I received this from my publisher just before Thanksgiving, and since this is Black Friday, what better day to post it. I love how the image evokes the many themes I'm trying to evoke in the book; more than that, I'm relieved and excited to see this most vivid of milestones in a development process that's been, wow, almost exactly a year now.
The book itself is coming out in late February next year, so it won't be available in time for the holidays-- still, if you're already shopping online, please consider stopping by the Amazon site for The Making of Second Life, and putting it on your wish list.
While I'm at it, some thanks and credits for those who've contributed to the Hamlet Au who's featured here and more or less the last four years of this blog: I'm wearing a suit by Stampshady Grimm, glasses by Dave Zeeman, and hair by Lost Therian. My New World Notes Tie was designed and created by JW Russell. The screenshot of my avatar is by Aimee Weber Studios.
Niiiice! Is that a wireframe view of an actual SL location?
Can't wait to see this book.

Me too! No, it's not an actual SL location for various complicated reasons.

Those complicated reasons being that your publisher doesn't get the SL TOS? :p

That was meant to be a joke, I like to think everything revolves around copyright, my real guess is that it was some mundane technical issue, like SL's wire frame rendering wasn't behaving or something like that.
