Vivacious founder of Not Possible In Real Life, a new virtual arts group that's taken Second Life by digital storm, Bettina Tizzy has discovered so many under-appreciated marvels I subsequently wrote about (as here and here) that I finally decided to eliminate the middle man (i.e. me), and make her recommendations directly. She'll be doing that over the next few weeks, beginning with this handful. Check out her illustrated write-ups on her blog, or if you're feeling brave, just click the SLURL.
"Herewith, five NPIRL sites in Second Life you should know about (and if you already do know these places, give yourself a pat on the back.) I recommend that you read up on them so that you will know what you are looking for once you get there:
- artoo Magneto's AnyMotion:

- Gary Hazlitt's "Thursday's Fictions":

"This is a highly subjective list which reflects my personal taste, rigorously honed on a daily basis by the informed insights of the members of my working group, Not Possible IRL. They are among Second Life's greatest artists, architects, coders, curators, adventurers and writers... dedicated to identifying and sharing well conceived and realized content creation of the highest order: that which is not possible in real life. It's been five months since the group began and I still maintain that our vision of what SL can be is the most overlooked and under appreciated concept, and yet, when you ask people in Second Life what their favorite places are, they invariably point to those that are NPIRL (not possible in real life)...
"While the membership for the Not Possible IRL group is by invitation only and now completely closed, I urge you to join the Impossible IRL group. ImpIRL'ers will hear about most new things before they get blogged, and the blog only represents a fraction of in-world activities for both groups. Just look in Search>Groups>Impossible IRL."
Bettina has made this life wonderful. She is tireless and I am fortunate she calls me friend.

Bettina's art reports are the ONLY place I look to find out what's happening in the sl art scene. Plus her writing style is so darn cute! xo, juria

Aw Lauren and Juria, thanks oodles! I luv ya both back. And Hamlet, thanks so much for the opportunity to share Not Possible IRL sites with your readers! I will do a different style posting next time. Funny how surprised I always am when I see the actual blog piece "live." It is always different from what I imagined!
