After years of delay, the Havok 4 upgrade to Second Life's creaking Havok 1 physics engine is imminent, and should happen this quarter; very early adopters have been on the test grid for months, however, playing with the Havok 4 version of Second Life, showing off entertaining demos of various Newtonian noodling. I've also been curious to see what game developers would make with the updated physics, which should be powerful enough for real time, fast-action games. I just spotted this rudimentary video from Moy Loon
an unknown Resident, and it's the coolest use of SL-enabled Havok 4 as a game platform I've seen thus far: pinball, but pinball but on a giant scale, where players are inside the balls themselves. Trying to contact the developer now for more details.
Update, 9:25pm: Just heard back from Moy Loon, the game's creator. Read those after the break.
Moy explains the gameplay: you move around in the ball collecting items, accomplishing tasks, and winning mini-games, all of which earns you points that can be used to buy prizes, including new skins, gadgets, etc. The game is already on the main, pre-Havok 4 grid, but is confined to a private island. Speaking of which, keen observers of the video will observe an excess of muscular naked men on the walls. "Because the 'theme' of the game is 'gay naked pinball'," Mr. Loon tells me simply. "Not really my idea on that, but my boss owns the sim 'Gay' so he thought it would be a fitting theme, I suppose."
Is more Marble Madness than pinball, no?

Well, the video is named Pinball Game?
Great to see other game developers already taking advantage of the havok 4 engine!
Pst, mono went beta! This is going to be a huge improvement for script performance, I can start getting my tower defense game finalised ^_^! *shameless plug*
