From Japan to Canada to what looks like a seedy joint in New Orleans, this is a great live music concert machinima from Osprey Therian, featuring Komuso Tokugawa on vocals and guitar, and Canuck Resident Hathead Rickenbacker on keys. I love Osprey's tight tracking and panning shots, moving right into and through the action-- it captures the experiential feel of live music. With the rich photography and what seems like an 8 foot skeleton voodoo king on stage, some shots look like they were actually shot in the Big Easy. (As opposed to somewhere in the intercontinental metaverse stream.)

It's more a recreation of a Mississippi Juke Joint, though I guess the look and feel is similar to old style jukes/bars in new orleans. Tabby's Blues Box in Baton Rouge [now closed] was also in my mind when I built it, having been there in addition to mississippi juke joints when I passed through in 1994.
The machinima is the culmination of about 3 months work, including doing the research on juke joints, finding props and set construction [which is actually part of a wider rl/sl project called "Living History of the Blues" I'm working on], and collaborating and rehearsing with Hathead to develop our real time live multi-continent bitstream boogie act.
Not to mention the fans who came by to get down at the virtual "Bucket of Blood" Juke Joint!
Topped off with the fine camera eye and machinima skills of Osprey Therian;-))
Thanks for the blog!
