When Mitch Kapor unveiled the hands-free 3D camera-driven user-interface, the blogosphere buzzed. Now Tara5 Oh of UgoTrade has a long follow-up interview with Mitch covering that topic and all it relates to (the future of the 3D worlds, the Internet at large, etc.) Among the highlights: Kapor intends to open source the code featured in the demo, and expects the technology to be available to consumers by Christmas 2009. Interesting possibilities for certain folks with certain physical challenges. Doubt I would want to stand around gesticulating all day to make stuff. not yet anyway. However, I do plan to buy a large tablet/pen input device for use with graphics design apps.
