Now here's a fascinating thought experiment: Botgirl Questi is promoting a personality test which you take twice: once, as your material self, and the second time, as your Second Life avatar. Then send the results to her, or just post them on her blog. Botgirl's using a test based on the Big Five model, and for the several who've posted their scores, there's a wide variation in real life/avatar personalities. Go here to take the test, then go here for options on sending Botgirl the results. I'm curious to see the double profile of Botgirl Questi herself-- you know, being a self-described artificial intelligence who's writing a graphic novel and all.

I must be doing SL wrong. I would answer the same way as an avatar as I did as a person. I insist upon carrying my personality disorders ere I go.

Yes, got to agree with Rusalka here. Apart from the gender, everything else is the same. And I don't see how it could be different - an actor may play a certain role, but that doesn't mean that his personality changes.

I have to agree with the above two comments. There's no way Gahum could be any different than his atomic equivalent, except the way he's represented digitally. I act the same way in SL as I do in chat rooms or online with friends. I simply CAN'T be different.
I guess I'm just not into being something totally different than myself (which I rather like).
