Leila's coolly sensual Tableau isn't strictly safe for work viewing, unless maybe you work at the DNA Lounge, but like the sexiest images, more is suggested, than actually revealed. In any case, you most certainly want to click it, to see "The Stairs" fully unfurled.
"[T]his particular pose was, shall we say... a collaborative vision," she tells me coyly, explaining its inspiration. "A private moment shared (in text) that I wanted to convey visually." I seem to see an ambivalent look in the woman's face, and ask Leila if she had that in mind. She took several dozen photos of this scene, she says, but "[t]his particular image caught my eye because it led to a feeling of being watched. Almost as if she's saying with her eyes, 'I'm watching you, watching us... ' Not minding it at all." She winks. "In fact, maybe turned on by it."
You can see much more of Leila's stunning imagery (modeling the erotically romantic poses she creates and sells) on her blog (also possibly NFSW.) Read on for more technical details in its making, and for guidelines to submit your own Tableau.
Leila Carroll created the couple's entangling position in Poser and Photoshop, for post-processing. "I always take my snapshots at high-res to disk (set at 5000x3000) in WindLight. And although WindLight gives great lighting, I still use Photoshop lighting in addition to that. I am not a big fan of too many filters. But I do use brightness/contrast, hue/saturation, levels, and curves a lot to achieve the look I want with my photos. I also use the dodge and burn tool to create highlights and shadows where needed as well."
Got a Tableau of your own? Submission guidelines below. For inspiration, see the full New World Tableau series here.
Submitting to New World Tableau:
New World Tableau is an ongoing album featuring Residents who've turned SL screenshots into a new art form, vividly conveying emotions, stories, and entire cultures in a single image.
- If you come across a picture or image stream that deserves a place
here, please IM (Hamlet Au) or e-mail ([email protected]) me the link. Please e-mail me the image as a file link, or attached as an .jpeg or .gif, as long as it's under a meg in size.
- Submitting as an in-world texture not recommended, as they often come out distorted and not high res.
- Feel free to describe what the image says to you, or if you're the creator, what inspired you to make it.
- Whenever possible, name the
Residents pictured, and include a SLURL to the location (when appropriate.)
-
Moderately Photoshopped
images are OK, just mention if this is the case, and what effects were
added. (On rare occasions when the post-production adds a special
element, heavily Photoshopped images are also appropriate.)
-
If you submit an image to NWT, it's assumed I have permission to run
it, either as the owner, or because it's been appropriately CC
licensed. The original creator retains all their rights to it, in any
case.
A great, great picture, details on shadow and highlights are wonderful. I am impressed.
Also, I am very happy to finally have found at Leila's store a pose I was looking for months.
Thank you for the good work!
