With the indispensable help of Tish Shute/Tara5 Oh of UgoTrade, I just wrote a briefer on Open Sim for Ostatic, the GigaOM network's open source resource site. Besides the Lindens' interoperability efforts, what's Open Sim about, who's working on it, what are they doing with it, and how do you get involved as a developer and participant? Tish and I offer some initial answers there. I hope Open Sim vets give it a look and provide additional info (and if necessary) corrections to what has already become a massive, multi-layered project that transcends Second Life and any one company.
