Vlad Bjornson of Shiny Life recently came across this intriguing augmented reality application demo that suggests a lot of possibilities. The creator, Henrik Ekeus, created an area in Second Life with a layout that exactly mirrors a real world office. He shot motion tracking video of a man walking around in the real location, subtracted everything but him from the video, then merged that to video of the Second Life location. Result: a real guy not only moving around in the metaverse, but interacting with the environment.
