Attention 'bot avatars and Star Wars roleplayers in SL: At 6pm SLT today, the creator of R2D2 will appear on the great Paisley Beebe talk show Tonight Live in Second Life. Known as Azar Shelman in-world, Tony Dyson designed the original R2D2 for Star Wars, then built eight copies of the beloved droid for The Empire Strikes Back. (Full impressive film resume here.) To make him feel at home, Paisley is encouraging the audience members to show up in Star Wars-inspired avatars.
Here's a direct SLURL teleport to the Tonight Live theater; doors open at 5:30 SLT. Additional viewing and show info on SLTV's Tonight Live site.
Thankyou Hamlet for mentioning todays show in NWN, it was the most fun ever! an audience full of R2D2's and Droids and Stormtroopers who all stood up and saluted when Tony Dyson entered the theatre, they were absolutly star struck by him and crowded around him after to have their pics taken. Later Tony went with them to a Star Wars Sim and had some more pics. He apparently with his special effects team are comming up with something big in SL a transformer of some sort but not just for Sci Fi fans...???? not sure what...in March. He is working with a very experienced Star Wars SL Robot maker so I can't wait to see what they invent :) You can watch the results on www.slcn.tv Monday 15th when its uploaded.
Many regards Paisley
