This weekend Virtual Holland will showcase two days of music from some of SL's best DJs and the event is being held to benefit War Child Canada. War Child International is a network of organizations working to help children affected by the viciousness of war. EmilyAn Katscher and Liess Paine pulled together this festival to raise as much money as they can for this important cause. The schedule of DJs is below so pick your favorite and teleport to Virtual Holland to participate.

Thursday January 22
High in the sky above Scribble there is a fantastic short-term exhibit that includes art, music, storytelling and imagination in enormous proportions.
As you wander through the otherworldly garden look for the pages of the story, buy them for $0L and read the tale of the creation of this interactive work of art. There are poses set about and photo opportunities are everywhere. The installation only last through Friday 1/23 so go today.
1PM - "Therapy and The Metaverse" Research Paper Presentation and Discussion
Mark Kizelshteyn (Chronos Laval in SL) recently published an article "Therapy and The Metaverse: Second Life and The Changing Conditions of Therapy For Convalescent and Chronically Ill Users" in Washington University's Undergraduate Research Digest. 6PM - Kim Seifert at Sunset Jazz Club
Kim's musical style, dynamic voice and engaging personality will have your heart singing with joy. 9AM - Learn to Make Basic Sculpties
Learn what a "sculptie" is, how they are created, and how you can get started creating your very own sculpted prims without spending a lot on expensive 3D modeling software. You need to have a basic understanding of building and have installed "Rokuro" ( http://www.kanae.net/secondlife/ ) prior to attending this class. This workshop is sponsored by NCI and the instructors are Metaphor Box and Gamma Fiddlesticks. Class will take place at NCI Caledon in the Caledon Oxbridge Village Auditorium.
1PM - Open Auditions for The SL Shakespeare Company
The SL Shakespeare Company, Second Life's premier professional theater production troupe, is searching for actors to perform in its first open-ended run of "Twelfth Night: Act 1." If you ever dreamed of perform the timeless tales of Shakespeare now is your chance.
The open audition will be held at the SL Globe Theater at 1 PM. Auditions are conducted using voice so please have a working microphone. The complete wardrobe for the Company's productions from skin to hair to clothing is designed by costume specialists which contributes to a rich virtual theater experience.

6PM - Grace McDunnough sings at Heron Island
To many in SL Saturday evening at 6PM is known as "Grace O'clock." Each week we gather at the Heron Island venue for a magical hour of original music and covers with a special flair by the sultry songstress Grace McDunnough. 7PM - Role Play Character Development Series; Part 1
Are you interested in role play but don't know where to start? This class is the first in a 4 part series on role-play character development. It will focus on character races, classes and beginning a basic profile for your character. While this class will mainly focus on the development of characters for medieval fantasy role-play other genre's are welcome to join in and the class is open to everyone. The instructor is Tammy Connolly and the session will take place in the Artstonia Village RP sim library. Please use the teleporter at the main gate to get to the library.

10AM - Virtual Hockey League of SL Season Opener
Did you know there is a hockey league in SL? The third season of the Virtual Hockey League of SL begins with a grudge rematch between last season's two playoff teams, the Polar Dogs and Lag Riders. If you love hockey absolutely take a trip to Axenfall to catch the game. You will be amazed at the fabulous ice arena build which captures all the details of a RL ice rink from a working Zamboni to the way your nose feels cold after sitting on the bleachers for a while. 11AM - Copper Robot Examines the Obama Legacy
Mitch Wagner and his guests satirical liberal blogger GenJCChristian Homewood, Grand Old Party organizer in SL Wyatt Forster, and Siri Vita who organized a hearing in SL on the Obama health plan examine whether President Obama is "The One Who Will Save Us All, or a socialist terrorist crook who hates America." 6PM - Tonight Live with Paisley Beebe
Multi-talented, Jazz songstress Paisley Beebe hosts Tonight Live weekly at the SLCN studios in Northport. This week the stellar line up of guests includes Roy Philbin of the Dresden Gallery which houses pictures by Old Masters; musician Rich Desoto, and Orhalla Zander King of the Hobos who was written about here on NWN just this week. The show is recorded in SL and broadcast over SLCN. Paisley has an engaging interviewing style, the conversation is always interesting, and you will be treated to a live performance as well. 11.00 AM - Ewing Fashion Agency presents RL/SL simultaneous fashion event
The Ewing Fashion Agency will be joining forces with the Amsterdam-based real-world talent managers, The Artist Advice for a fashion event. During the live fashion show at Beurs van Berlage (Amsterdam - The Netherlands), the Ewing Fashion Agency will host the Second Life version of the show at its Ischia sim location. Each event will be viewable to the other as they occur. The Real World creations of designers Jennifer Delano, Melanie Brown and Eleonore de Ruuk are being recreated for the Second Life production by SL designers: Digit Darkes, Neferia Abel, Sascha Frangilli, Simone Stern, Sysy Chapman and Zaara Kohime. DJ Damien Simons will be on stage in both worlds during the show.
Noon - Metanomics
This week Buyers Sellers (Robert Bloomfield in RL) interviews Daniel Voyager who last week asked Philip Rosedale about the future of the Teen Grid and sparked much discussion. David Klevan of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, sponsor of the Kristallnacht SL Exhibit which was featured on NWN, will be on hand as will Barry Joseph of Global Kids who will discuss his organization's involvement in virtual worlds. The session will close with commentary by Fleep Turque. The Metanomics website has past shows the link for Chatbridge so you can watch the event remotely if you are unable to TP here to attend.
7PM - Cypress Rosewood SL/RL simultaneous show "When Worlds Collide"
Musician Cypress Rosewood combines interviews, SL current affairs and music in this interesting weekly show. "When Worlds Collide" is conducted live in SL and is also broadcast on WRFN- LPRM, www.RadioFreeNashville.org. Keystone is credited for building several well-known structures, including U.S. Capitol Hill, on which he worked collaboratively with Kiwini Oe of Clear Ink. 12 - POL Arida performs live at Greenies Home
POL
Arida is a solo musician working from Edinburgh, Scotland. His self
developed "Hammer" guitar technique is widely regarded as a unique
style, which is achieved by hitting the guitar, in some cases over 300
times a minute. Listen to samples of Pol's music on his myspace page and head over to his web page for photos, words, video and downloads. This show will take place in the Greenie's Home sim. If you have been there before you know what a treat this location is and if you have not been there get ready to be amazed. Set your draw distance to 300 for the best experience.
6PM - Primtionary
Primtionary is a 3D version of charades. A willing builder is given a word which they will represent buy creating something with prims. Then everyone else will guess the word based on what the builder has made. The person who guesses correctly gets to go next and wins $25L. This event helps improve people's building skills and is a lot of fun. Even if you don't want to build the party atmosphere makes this event well worth your time.
