Next Tuesday, to celebrate Barack Obama's Presidential Inauguration, the folks with Netroots Nation in SL (the metaverse arm of the huge and influential liberal-progressive advocacy group) will host a three sim, non-partisan celebration starting at 8am SLT with a listening party around the audio stream from Washington DC, then running late into the night, replete with numerous live music acts, several inaugural balls, and more. I'm sure there's many more events happening in-world, and I want to create a special event schedule for that milestone day. If you have the details, please post them in Comments, especially the SLURL!

Comments appear to be working here. But not on some typepad blogs and now the yahoo news tech pages have a similar "tech issue" rofl.
I'll watch the (swearing in for some, swearing for others) ceremony on TV. Maybe I will find an in world place if Second Life is functional. Election night was fun.

We'll be hosting an inaugural ball at Capitol Hill in Second Life with formal dress on the south sim (sim 2) and informal on the north sim (sim 1). It will be Tuesday, January 20 from 6-10 pm SLT.

I'll be hanging out in my home sim of Ivy Falls for the celebration in the amphitheatre. They'll have fireworks and performances by Cypress Rosewood, Moxy Barracuda, Cylindrian Rutabaga, Cyberpiper Roelofs, Tamra Sands, and The ChangHigh Trinity Sisters Fireshow starting at 12pm SLT on the 20th.
